Rosedale Ridge

Surrounding Area

BATEMANS BAY MORUYA NAROOMA

The area was originally settled by the Bugelli-Manji and Yuin tribes of the Aboriginal nation

Captain James Cook travelled up the coast in April, 1770

Rosedale is a small coastal village, on the coast road, George Bass Drive 15 minutes drive south of Batemans Bay, and 15 minutes north of Moruya. Other nearby towns are of Nelligan, Batemans Bay, Broulee, Moruya and Narooma. The entire district is known as the Eurobodalla or the Nature Coast.

Batemans Bay has all the modern facilities of a small city:

  • a Stockland shopping centre with Coles and K Mart,
  • Woolworths supermarket
  • a hospital and numerous medical centres,
  • Wollongong University campus
  • Public & private primary & high schools
  • Top class cafes and restaurants

There is a daily air service to Sydney & Melbourne from Moruya. Canberra is two and a half hours drive to the west of Batemans Bay.

The weather and the sea water is warm and comfortable in the summer, mild and cool in winter.

There are reserves, state forests and National Parks on the land and the coastal waters are a Marine Park.
